Three games

501, 301 and Cricket

Each one keeps score its own way, and DartSync does the arithmetic for all three — the subtraction, the busts, the marks and the points.

501
The professional standard

Both players start on 501 and race down to exactly zero. The format of every PDC world final, and of every pub in the country.

  • Automatic subtraction
  • Bust detection
  • Three darts per visit
301
Short and sharp

The same rules from a lower start. You reach the finishing zone almost immediately, which makes it the format to learn on — and the one to pick when there are six of you waiting for the board.

  • Five to ten minutes
  • Ideal for beginners
  • Keeps a queue moving
Cricket
Territory, not arithmetic

Close 15 through 20 and the bull before your opponents do, and score on every number you own until they close it too. The thinking player's game.

  • Visual marks grid
  • Points scored automatically
  • Blocking and strategy
How it works

One link, every phone

01

Set the game up

Pick 501, 301 or Cricket, type the names. Ten seconds, no account, no download.

02

Send the link

One link per game. Drop it in WhatsApp or hand over the QR code. Everyone opens it and follows the score on their own screen.

03

Throw

Enter darts one at a time, or the whole visit at once. Every phone on that link updates at the same moment.

What you get

A scoreboard, not a social network

No sign-up, ever

No account, no password, no email. A link is the whole login.

Live on every phone

Scores travel over a websocket. A dart entered on the oche shows up instantly on the sofa.

As many players as you like

Solo practice, a pair, or a club night with a dozen names. Same mechanics throughout.

Built for a phone at the oche

Large keypad targets, and a scoreboard you can read from the throw line.

Averages and undo

Three-dart average, best visit and dart count as you play. Mis-typed a treble? One tap puts it back.

Your house rules

Double, master or straight out. Throwing order fixed, random, rotating, or loser first.

Before the first dart

Is your board hung correctly?

A scoreboard is no use above a board that is four centimetres too high. The bullseye sits 5' 8" off the floor and the oche goes 7' 9¼" from the face of the board — not from the wall, which is the mistake almost everyone makes and which leaves you throwing from too close.

Every measurement, and how to check yours

Frequently asked questions

Is DartSync really free?▼

Yes, and there is nothing to unlock. No account, no trial, no limit on how many games you play. The project is paid for by its author, not by advertising.

Do I need to install anything?▼

No. DartSync runs in the browser, so it works on any phone, tablet or laptop with a connection. Add it to your home screen if you want it a tap away.

How do the other players join?▼

You share the link the game gives you. Everyone who opens it follows the score live on their own screen — no one has to sign up.

How many players can a game take?▼

As many as you can fit in front of the board. Solo practice works too: the average and the dart count are calculated the same way.

Which games are supported?▼

501, 301 and Cricket, with the checkout rule of your choice — double out, master out or straight out. Around the Clock and the practice routines are not in yet.

What does it work out for me?▼

Three-dart average, best visit and dart count, live as you throw, plus a checkout suggestion when you reach a finishing score. Averages are not yet kept from one game to the next.

Can I correct a mis-typed dart?▼

Yes. Undo steps back through the throws one at a time, and the score and averages are recalculated on every connected screen.

Does it work without a connection?▼

Not yet. Scores are shared between phones through the server, so the game needs a connection — something to bear in mind in a cellar with no signal.
